Even as far north as Kentucky we have felt the effects of Hurricane Ike. My home was one of the 200,000 that lost power and was only just restored yesterday. Aside from that- with all the news about financial powerhouses going bankrupt, I was scared to check the balance on my retirement plan today. Sure enough I have lost thousands in only a few days. They say you have to be able to ride the ups and downs of the stock market but my goodness it is rough! Even with many years to go until retirement, recent events are making me extremely uncomfortable indeed.

About K.
K. is a blogger. She writes in her blog because she is so vain that she loves it when other people read her ramblings. She fancies herself to be a writer but that "novel" in her head has yet to make it past the first chapter. For now, this little blog is the closest thing she's got to being published (other than that poem she wrote for her high school year book). She'll take that.

BEAN: The First Sun. Born July 2005 and instantly brightened K's world. That is what sons do. He is the big boy and he OWNS that title. He's extremely articulate and has really come out of his shell. He is brilliant and boisterous and beautiful.- ANT: The Second Sun. Born January 2007 and glows just as bright as his brother. He has finally decided to start talking, even though no one can understand him but K. He is generally in a happy mood with an agreeable disposition. Which is a good thing because sometimes his big brother wants to knock him out of his position in the sky.
